The Austin Bass Club was founded in September 1960.

The Austin Bass Club opened the 2008 season by having their first monthly meeting on January 8, 2008. The meeting was called to order about 7:30pm by the clubs President Keith Nichols. After the treasurers report Keith asked that Vice President Mike Shields would be point of contact (POC) for all members needing a partner for club tournaments. If you need a partner call or email Mike to see if anyone is looking for a partner with or without a boat.
There was some good discussion about the ramp availability on Lake LBJ. The Harris loop ramp looks kind of roof from the pictures Jake brought to the meeting and this is the weigh in site for the tournament. There is a park over by Jakes house that is for property owners and another one by the Ferguson Power Plant. If you plan on fishing the 20th of January Club Tournament on LBJ you need to find a place to launch.
There was some warnings of the lakes high spots and under water points. Like the long point just outside Big Sandy Creek where the point comes out a long ways and you will hit bottom. Stay to the right of the sandbar going up to the Colorado, Llano "Y". Give a wide berth to shallow main points.

Several members of the Austin Bass Club fished a jackpot, largest fish, tournament at LBJ on Sunday 27 Jan. 08. Mike Shields was the lucky one weighing in at 6.94 lbs. Congratulation Mike. According to LCRA the lake will be down until 28 Feb. 08
The Austin Bass Clubs Banquet will be on 9th of February where, I did not get that memo.
