TABC State Tournament

Members that plan to defend the Austin Bass club State tournament title need to have their TABC dues paid by the next meeting.  We need to finalize who is fishing this years’ tournament.  If you plan on fishing and need to pay your dues you need to get on it as we need to start strategizing for this year’s tournament.  We need to know who is fishing and who is taking their boat.  We also need to make room reservations for the nights we want to stay.

July Tournament Results – Fayette Co.

We had 7 teams fish the July tournament on Fayette Co. in the dark.  As usual for a night tournament on Fayette some teams found the fish and some teams struggled.  The darkness didn’t seem to be a factor for Jim Robinson and Dan Ross as they stroked ‘em for a 10 fish stringer of 49 lbs.  That was 49 lbs. of Hot Water fish.  Those 49 lbs. of fish didn’t seem to mind the 100+ degrees of water they were hanging out in.  Nice job, guys!

Second place was real tight.  The Langston boys of Dale and Dwayne landed 5 fish weighing 27.60 lbs. which barely beat out Tim Spencer and Chris Boykins’ 5 fish that weighed in at 27.25 lbs.

First Individual honors went out to Jim Robinson who had a 5 fish limit of 29.50 lbs.  For you non-math majors that’s knocking on the door of a 6 POUND AVERAGE!  WOW!  Great job, Jim!  Jim’s fish were caught on leftover ringworms from the Falcon tournament.

Big Bass accolades go out to Dale Langston with a paper weight fish of 7.60 lbs.  Nice fish, Dale!  There were 5 fisherman that caught 5 fish limits and they were:  Jim Robinson, Dan Ross, Dale Langston, Tim Spencer and Sean Ramsey.

There were a total of 14 fisherman catching 40 bass for a total weight of 156.12 lbs. for an average of 3.90 lbs.

Congrats to all!

August Tournament

Note:  Make sure you are at the ramp for the 4:45 am draw.

This tournament will be a paper draw tournament.

14” blacks and 12”spotties can be weighed in, on paper.  (You may need every 12” Spot you can get on this one).

The vote for this tournament was a tie.  In the best interest of the club president Mike Shields broke the tie and voted for Lake Belton.  The intentions being that the Top 8 team can use the information from this tournament for the State tournament in September.  Thanks Mike, for looking out for the best interest of the club.
