Family Outing

Discussions of having some type of family function will be discussed at the June meeting. Due to a lack of attendance at the last meeting the members that did attend decided to postpone the topic until the next meeting.

Videos

Tim Spencer has offered to bring some fishing videos he has and would like to share them with anyone who is interested in watching them. The video collection includes “Fishing the Grass” and is hosted by Tommy Martin. Other hosts include Kevin Vandam as well as other top BASS fisherman. If you are interested please come to the next meeting or contact Tim Spencer.

May Tournament Results – Lake Travis

We had 5 full and 2 half teams fish the May tournament on Lake Travis. Early signs of summer were felt as temperatures reached the upper 90’s without much breeze. Add to the fact that there wasn’t any cloud cover and it was post-spawn and it all made for some pretty tough conditions for catching keeper sized fish.

Nonetheless, Denis Parish and Bobby Landes were able to weigh-in 4 keepers for a total of 6.86 lbs. to take first place. Their fish were caught on flukes of various colors above the river split. Bobby took the triple crown honors with a not-so-big bass of 2.38 lbs. and was top individual with 3.83 lbs.

Second place was Keith Nichols and Sean Ramsey who also had 4 fish that weighed 5.01 lbs. They barely edged out Jerry Carpenter and Darryl Hanson who had 4 keepers weighing 4.94 lbs.

There were 12 fishermen that caught 17 fish for a total weight of 23.57 lbs. and an average weight of 1.39 lbs.

Changes For June Tournament Lake

Due to another event taking place at Decker Lake on June 12^th at the same time as our tournament, consideration will be given to changing our tournament and will be discussed at our June meeting. From informal discussions, parking could be a real problem based upon past experiences amongst some of our members. It may be necessary to vote in a different lake for June and then maybe try Decker again in some other month.
